Interactive demonstrations with Aerohive

After the international experience in Montreal, we traveled back to San Jose to work with Aerohive. In the past, we have shot interesting white board demonstrations with Aerohive that proved to be highly informative while engaging the audience. For more videos like this, we used our Rifa soft box lights that allowed for better coverage and less glare instead of using our LED lights. After doing many of these interactive white board videos, we have developed a system of shooting and scripting these videos. We always go over the script that Aerohive puts together to double check and make sure that the flow works on camera.

Our team also shot a series of podcast videos with Matthew Gast discussing new trends in wireless networking, using a similar set up without a whiteboard. In the post production process, we will be adding graphics to be utilized in these videos.

After two days of production, we completed shooting over ten videos--an impressive feat, no doubt. Our passion for video allows us to be versatile to our client's needs, whether it be testimonials, podcasts, informative videos, or live streaming. Multiple shoots with Aruba Networks

Many of our high-tech clients are located in San Jose, California,  including Aruba Networks.  For one of our most recent trips, we traveled to their headquarters to shoot an episode of Aruba Airbytes as well as an interview with the CEO of Meridian.

For the Aruba Airbytes segment, we shot in three different locations around the office discussing Aruba's Client Match Feature. We used our Sony EX1 as well as our Rifa soft box lights in order to achieve the best style for this piece. Afterwards, we moved to Aruba's studio space to capture two interviews with the CEOs of Aruba Networks and Meridian. With the logo in the background, ideal lighting, and a two camera set up, the interviews looked incredible.

Excited to use our new Tricaster system once more, we spent a day at Aruba Networks for a Tech Field Day all day event discussing 802.11ac. Before the event, we received a detailed schedule of presentations that included each of the speakers. From there, we created lower thirds, titles, and custom titles that could be changed during the event in case anything ran early or late. There was a team of six delegates that each had their own lapel microphone utilizing our new audio system, which allowed us to hear them during the discussion. The event went very smoothly and had over 900 viewers on the stream along with more than fifty people in the room attending the event.

At this point, we have used our Tricaster on a couple of different jobs with more coming up in the future. Live streaming is a powerful tool for any company to use for events, town hall meetings, and conferences. If you are interested in any of our video services, please contact us at 480.240.9270.

Live Streaming in Montreal, Canada

These past couple weeks have been extremely busy for our mobile production unit, and we had the exciting opportunity to work with Truth in IT in Montreal, Canada. Traveling internationally is nothing new for our company, as we have gone to many countries including France, Germany, and Nicaragua. While going across the globe, the language barrier isn't a problem as our Producer, Ben, speaks French, and Production Coordinator, Andrea, is fluent in Spanish. All of the signs and menus in Montreal were in french, and we made sure to try some of the local flavors like poutine. Poutine is a Canadian dish that consists of french fries, gravy, and cheese curds--YUM!

With Truth in IT, our production team live streamed an event where sponsors give presentations about new products and trends in the technology industry. In addition to the live broadcast on the web, there were many attendees who came to the event from all over the city. We used our new Tricaster live streaming set up, which allows us to do several new functions.

No longer are we limited customizing our settings each time we operate the system, as with our old Black Magic switcher. With the Tricaster, the user can save settings for each streaming project. This means we can set up virtual inputs with custom picture-in-picture capabilities, as well as import and create lower thirds, title cards, and other graphics necessary for a successful stream.

We had over 200 viewers on the stream, with no interruptions or problems. Traveling anywhere as a production team can be a challenge, but we have a elaborate system for keeping things organized and running. If you would like to live stream your next event, please contact us at 480.240.9270.

Coverings Tile and Stone in Atlanta, Georgia

Coverings is the largest tile and stone convention in the United States, and exhibitors come from all over the world to showcase the latest styles, trends, and technologies within the industry. Just as diverse as the show,  the owners include Tile of Spain, Ceramics of Italy, NTCA, CTDA, and TCNA. This year, the show took place right in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, where we had the exciting opportunity to capture this event.

Our mobile production unit brought talented host, Lisa Acquafredda, to interview industry professionals on CoveringsTV. For this set, we used two Sony EX1 cameras, our Lowell Rifa soft box lights, and created our own studio space on the show floor.  With this elevated set, we were able to interview various members and show owners who discussed the highlights of the show.

Throughout the convention center, there were large screens which were updated daily with our video content.  Our day-to-day schedule included conducting interviews at the studio space and on the show floor, as well as capturing sessions and demonstrations. Later each night, we would edit these segments so that the displays at the showcase were always up to date.

In addition to interviews on CoveringsTV, our production crew walked the show floor and talked to exhibitors about the new trends in the market.  Going from booth to booth, we used our Canon 5D to shoot B-roll of gorgeous mosaics, custom printed tiles, and some of the most exquisite exhibits we’ve ever seen.

This convention was one of the biggest shows our mobile production unit has ever encountered and proved itself to be quite a challenge. After four days of education sessions, installation demonstrations, and social events, we captured over thirty interviews along with ample coverage of the show floor.

Coverings 2013 was an incredible event, and we were thrilled to work at such a unique convention. We also enjoyed working with Lisa Acquafredda, who did a wonderful job conducting interviews and introducing each day for the daily videos. Live! From Denver, Colorado

Over the past year live streaming has become a huge part of our business and as such, we’ve done conferences, seminars, and even town hall meetings. Armed with our Black Magic ATEM switcher, we have streamed events from Tech Field Day to election coverage in Washington D.C.

As we continue to network with new clients and expand on our abilities as video professionals, we've decided to take our mobile live streaming production unit to the next level by purchasing a Tricaster 455. This professional switcher will enable us to enhance our streaming capabilities with elaborate graphics integration, custom picture-in-picture abilities, and more.

This latest addition to our production family will really make our streaming package shine. We begin our first project with the Tricaster in one week, and we're excited use it in the field. For our final project with the Black Magic Switcher, we went to Denver, Colorado for Storage Field Day 3.

Our mobile production unit travels all over the country and around the world. We always try to make the best use of our time by using the flights to organize, manage, and review our work. Being mobile has its benefits, including editing on the plane with ease. In this way, we can multitask and still remain organized on many projects at once.

When we’re in a city where we have multiple clients, coordination is key. For example, while Denver for Tech Field Day, we collaborated with another client of ours, Exablox, to produce some content for them too. By effectively managing our time, we were able to produce two demonstration videos for this innovative storage company.

We switched gears the next morning back to Tech Field Day, an event that brings bloggers to clients for in-depth conversations and demonstrations. Always seeking to provide the absolute best quality stream, we decided to individually mic each of the delegates. Previously, we had used just 4 table microphones to capture the audio of the 12 delegates, but we found that this would result in their questions and comments being too quiet.  By using an individual microphone for each of the delegates, we were able to broadcast their speech with far more volume and clarity. Sneezing did become a bit of a 'loud' problem, however. We're working on this.

Each of the individual delegate's lapel microphones were plugged into a snake that led back to an audio mixer.  This mixer allowed us to manage all of the delegates individually as well as each of the presenters.  This new set up was a little daunting at first, but after we dialed it in, the system worked phenomenally.

Tech Field Day is always a well-organized event that we're constantly aiming to improve.  This efficiency creates excellent coverage for all the viewers watching online from around the world.
